At the annual film festival productions from all over the world are shown: Vietnam, Zimbabwe, Ukraina, Argentina, South-Korea, Finland, Sweden… in all 36 countries in 2005. Every third festival participant is a visitor from abroad or other parts of Norway. This is Norway’s largest film festival. The festival has succeded in making non-commercial films a commercial success at Tromsø.
It is the icon festival among the multitude of festivals harboured at Tromsø that all have the characteristic of being sprung from unconventional ideas to become successes.
