The growth of the city and the building boom challenge all landscapes on Tromsø Island. The present drawing (1995/2006) is to be considered as a defensive wall around a form of life, Throughout the year this constitutes the population’s room of recreation in a landscape that is now to be treated in terms of a urban park. The University and the other institutions of education and research are placed along this green line. Here people ski to work, here they celebrate the sun’s return in January; it is the most important urban field open to children – a place of the heart.
