- A KNOWLEDGE AND COMPETENCY BANK
The activity of the Norwegian State Housing Bank in the region involves research in
circumpolar collaboration. Comunities in the area all exist under similar
physical conditions: a cold climate, a scattered population, heavy
snowfalls, the polar night and the midnight sun.

Lene Edvardsen, architect and assistant director in the bank's regional
office at Hammerfest, has participated in the transformation of the State
Housing Bank. Her arenas are Winter Cities, Europan, ACIA and not least
Russia. Her fields of activity comprise questions of energy, the climate, indigenous
peoples, public health and the environment. During the past 10 years she has
contributed to creating groundbreaking networks across borders to
enable shared experiences and collaboration.
