These are the words of Nelson Mandela during the concert at Tromsø June 11, 2005. ”46664 Arctic” focused on the problem of HIV/AIDS. 20 000 spectators were present at the concert in a city of 64 000 inhabitants. The event created an enthusiasm that fired international projects of solidarity initiated from the Youth House ”Tvibit” and the research milieus in the city. The questions raised by the concert are succinctly formulated as follows: How does the city relate to the world, and which are the challenges it addresses to itself?
