Magne Amundsen is the leader of TVIBIT, the youth centre in Tromsø, which acts and thinks according to five theses:

THE WORLD MUST IMPROVE
Norway has an obligation to the world since we are filthy rich and soon have 2000 milliard NKR in savings. Why become rich and without perspectives? We have never possessed so much knowledge, experience and resources to make the world a better place, but we do nothing.

TROMSØ MUST SHOW FACE
Think international! Those cities that become the leading in the world are those cities that dare to have an opinion. Tromsø can do so by applying knowledge, interdisciplinarity, youthfulness and radicalism. Tromsø must dwell on meaning, values and solidarity work.

TVIBIT - AN OPEN SOURCE
Tvibit puts thoughts and ideas into effect rapidly by breaking structures and old lines of thought. Tvibit’s methods are democratic, we deintellectualize creativity and innovation. Tvibit is unafraid and disrespectful – if we get no for an answer, we do it anyway! The value of influencing one’s society is not understood. At Tvibit the single individual can create and experience change. Tvibit represents change on a micro scale, can Tromsø change the world on a macro scale?

PROJECTS THAT MAKE WAY
The exhibition Tromsø X-files was a democratic invention – it opened up, created debate, challenged and developed. By the Mandela project, Tromsø made its largest international stunt and showed the world that it is possible to mobilize a whole city.

FROM CITY TO CITY
We need city solidarity. Solidarity is love. When Europe protects itself, we need to open up. We need to use our competence in other places in order to develop personally. We must avoid governmental investments in corrupt states and instead in an idealistic way become an outgoing dynamic city in the name of love.

THE MISSING EDUCATION
We must discover educational directions new to the world, a study focusing on social change. Tromsø is a perfect place for such a study. The city has the right size, it is young, naive and fearless. The idea is to learn by action and change, and that this method of learning shall create new praxis. The new art academy at Tromsø must belong to this conversation of change.

WORLD WORKSHOP
We must immediately arrange a worldwide workshop for political and alternative organizations focusing on action and the good example. Here we must optimize our thinking. The worldwide workshop can contribute to make Tromsø more interesting and the world better. The opening of Russia takes place now – the code must be cracked.
